Since the ALEXASCHA brand was founded in 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to designing sustainable jewelry that celebrates the beauty of nature, diversity, and individuality. Our mission is to create jewelry that makes you shine and supports you in who you are. And what could be more exciting than exploring your own creative style? Almost like a canvas, you can try on different looks with our pieces and find the colors that perfectly suit you.
THE FOUNDATION
“The story of ALEXASCHA is based on contrasts: the contrast between modesty and self-confidence, between departure and arrival, between sustainability and fashion jewelry.
Inspired by these contradictions, the brand was born in a small shared apartment in Hamburg. After long days at a design agency, I sat down at my desk and let my creativity run wild. Because the job at the agency was rarely creative. I quickly began to question its purpose. Packaging design, besides its design and feel, has a dark side: after a very short lifespan, every package becomes waste, and even during development, vast amounts of paper waste are generated.
That didn't fit into my worldview. I grew up in a working-class family in a country where the consumer mentality hadn't yet taken root. The principle of "making new from old" and a responsible approach to things are in my blood. This is how I found my calling in developing sustainable jewelry. Self-realization with a clear conscience and creativity that doesn't come at the expense of the environment – that was my motivation for founding the ALEXASCHA brand.
THE BRAND
Being able to express your creativity without spending a lot of money and feeling guilty about it? Conscious choices and sustainable consumption are key words in this regard. We're doing our part by reinterpreting the typically disposable product of costume jewelry.
Fashion jewelry stands for three main characteristics: variety, affordability, and fast-moving. We're happy to forgo the latter. A clear design extends the life of the products, and when the look is no longer so fast-moving, it can also be of high quality. Furthermore, precious metals and gemstones are traditionally not used in fashion jewelry. We, too, distance ourselves from the use of finite resources and rely on stainless steel, which, combined with colorful glass, offers variety at an affordable price.
Bauhaus is one of our greatest sources of inspiration. Its philosophy is based on the idea that a product can be functional, durable, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing all at once. But we go one step further and claim that jewelry can also be sustainable.
