How to find out your ring size

1.Basics

Before determining your ring size, be aware that a person's finger thickness can vary from day to day. In the summer or after exercise, fingers tend to swell, but in the cold, they become thinner. Do you already know which finger your new ring will be on? Then it's best to measure that specific finger. We also recommend measuring your ring size several times at different times and under different conditions to be on the safe side. If the ring is too wide, there's a risk that it will slip off your finger or even get lost.

An adjustable ring is also an option - so you can love and wear your jewelry anytime. You can read about the extent to which the rings are adjustable in our product descriptions.

2. Methods

Have you fallen in love with a minimalist ring from ALEXASCHA and are now wondering what size you are? No problem. There are various methods for determining your ring size. In our Size guide We have already presented two options:
Measuring the diameter of an existing ring or the circumference of your finger .

  • When measuring the diameter (1) of an existing ring, we recommend using a fairly narrow ring that can be easily placed on a ruler or tape measure. Simply place it on your measuring device, and you'll have the inner diameter in millimeters.
  • You can find your ring size even without a ring. To do this, check the circumference of your finger (2) where you plan to wear your new piece of jewelry (note: you need to be extremely precise). This works best with a piece of string or a narrow strip of paper, which you first cut to size and wrap around your finger. It should feel comfortable and slide on and off easily. By marking the starting and ending points, you can read the exact circumference in millimeters when you place it against a ruler.

Tip : Want to be on the safe side? Then secure the thread or paper strip with a piece of Sellotape or Washi tape by overlapping the two ends. This creates a ring that, while quite soft, can still be easily put on. This will give you more confidence in your measurement.

3. Ring template

To help you find your ring size, use our handy printable ring template.
You can easily download and print them and then use them as follows:

  1. Print the ring template in classic A4 (landscape) format
Tip: Instead of regular paper, use a sturdier version. This makes it much easier to try on and prevents the paper from tearing.
  2. Do you know approximately which row of our template your ring size falls into? Fold the paper along the dotted line of this row and cut out one or more semicircles.
  3. Time to try it on! Unfold the paper again and poke your finger through your cut-out circles.
  4. Can't determine your exact size because the sheet is getting in the way? To create a rough paper ring prototype, cut out your favorites with enough space around them. Now you can test the paper rings again.
  5. Finally, all that's left to do is read the number. Measure the diameter of the matching "ring" using a ruler and check the corresponding ring size in the table.
